COMMUNITY
COMMODITY

This catalog explores the commercialization of the LGBT pride parade in NYC by showcasing the participants that had a branded presence from the first parade to the most recent. The catalog was completed in 2015.

The progression is organized along a timeline of milestones in the gay rights movement. As the user flips through the book they can see that as anti-gay legislation is removed more commercial organizations pop into the march. This is meant to expose the fine line between assimilation and acceptance and critique the exploitive nature of commercial participation in the parades.
